Dear Creator,

Thank you so much for creating for me. I look forward to whatever you come up with! I am [archiveofourown.org profile] CeruleanTactician on AO3 as well. All my prompts are just suggestions. If you have an idea that you think will be great, as long as it respects my DNWs, go for it. If you need any clarifications, please don’t hesitate to send a question through the exchange mods.

For this exchange, I’ve requested a lot of dramatic/dark/angsty freeform tags, but feel free to go for something in a lighter, more comfort-focused direction if you’d like. Dark fic is also great but please mind my hurt with no comfort DNW.

I have gifts enabled and would be happy to receive both fic and art treats for this exchange.

Request #1 - Tenth Doctor & Donna Noble (hurt Doctor)

Freeforms:

  • A accused of crimes; only B believes they're innocent
  • Accepting injury to protect someone
  • Aftermath of Torture
  • Altered States - Drugged Into A State Of Confusion and Fear

  • Protectiveness - Character A still tries to protect Character B despite A being injured
  • Touch Starved - Character Startled by How Good Being Touched Feels

I really love Donna's relationship with Ten, sass and all. They just have so much fun together and she's just the friend he needs at that time in his life - able to call him out when he needs it while also being capable of a lot more kindness and compassion than she's ever been given credit for.

Onto hurt/comfort stuff specifically - I think that Ten would be very fun to whump. He’s a lot more openly insecure/vulnerable and emotional than other Doctors. I would love to see Ten getting hurt trying to protect Donna and then pretending to be fine (but it’s not fine, and Donna can totally see through that.) I think Donna would bring the right balance of caring while also not being afraid to push a little in order to help him.

Request #2 - Third Doctor & Jo Grant (hurt Jo), Seventh Doctor & Ace McShane (hurt Ace)

Freeforms:

  • Aftermath of Possession
  • Character A drops the lighthearted facade when Character B is in danger
  • Character A protects Character B from psychic assault
  • Character A wraps Character B gently in their coat
  • Character A's loyalty is used to hurt A; Character B feels terrible
  • Entering dream/nightmare to help the dreamer
  • Forehead Kisses for comfort
  • Gentle acts of caretaking
  • Holding someone while they cry
  • Hurt/Comfort While Undercover
  • Mind Control - Recovery while in high pressure circumstances
  • Mind Control - Victim Pretending To Be Mind Controlled To Trick The Villain
  • Mind Control Aftermath & Recovery
  • Possession - Character A Was Possessed And Character B Was The Only One To Notice
  • Pretending To Betray Someone To Save Them
  • Protective character A fails to keep B from getting hurt
  • Protectiveness - Normally Gentle Character A Gets Scarily Protective When B Is Hurt
  • Psychic connection used as conduit for comfort
  • Watching hurt/sick character sleep
  • Telepathy - telepathic connection/aid/healing

On Three and Jo - I love the way Three is can be an arrogant bastard but also completely charming and lovable. Jo’s sweetness, optimism and resourcefulness and determination. How soft and fond of Jo Three obviously is. The way they always hold hands!

On Seven and Ace - I love that their relationship is complicated and weird but that there's genuinely a lot of care, loyalty and trust there. I love how Ace has A Lot Of Issues and the Doctor kind of helps but also ends up traumatizing her further? I do also enjoy how close their bond is to a parental relationship (found family in space!), though neither of them would ever describe it in that way. I also love Ace's fighting spirit, her reckless determination and her love of homemade explosives. I love how Seven can go from his usual seemingly light-hearted self to a scary master manipulator in a second. Yet despite how ruthless he can be, he cares for Ace a lot.

On hurt/comfort specifically - Ace and Jo are both strong and kind, so I would love to see what would happen if they got hurt in a way that they couldn’t immediately shrug off while with the Doctor, be it a physical or emotional hurt. Bonus points if the Doctor feels guilty/protective over his hurt companion and (if applicable) goes Oncoming Storm on whoever did the hurting.

Request #3 - Third Doctor & Jo Grant, Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart & Third Doctor, Seventh Doctor & Ace McShane (hurt Doctor)

Freeforms:

  • Aftermath of Torture
  • Bargaining - Victim Offers/Sacrifices Self to Protect Others
  • Character A Doesn’t Know How To Help Hurt B Because Of Their Nonhuman Biology
  • Character A hurt protecting character B
  • Character draws negative attention onto themself to protect another
  • Character has to fake being evil for reasons
  • Character with high pain tolerance can't help but show visible signs of pain
  • Dehumanization - Victim Considered Less Than Human Because of Who/What They Are
  • Emotional Distress After Meeting An Evil Version Of Yourself From An Alternate Universe
  • Experimented on by evil scientists
  • Hurt character is not used to being touched by someone else
  • Hurt/sick character isn't quite lucid
  • Possession - Character A Was Possessed And Character B Was The Only One To Notice
  • Pretending To Betray Someone To Save Them

On Three and Jo - I love the way Three is can be an arrogant bastard but also completely charming and lovable. Jo’s sweetness, optimism and resourcefulness and determination. How soft and fond of Jo Three obviously is. The way they always hold hands!

On Three and the Brigadier - I love how despite how much Three complains about the Brigadier he obviously has a lot of respect and fondness for him. I love the mutual trust and working relationship they have together. I also love that the Brigadier, who is literally Just An Army Guy Who Works For the UN, accomplishes something the Time Lords and alien despots across the universe have never been able to - reigning in the Doctor.

Yet despite how ruthlessness he can be, he cares for Ace a lot.

Onto hurt/comfort stuff specifically - the Doctor (especially in these two incarnations) is very good at acting confident and pretending that he’s invulnerable. I would love to see what would happen if he miscalculated and ended up in a bad situation. The Doctor accepting hurt to protect Jo/Alistair/Ace from it or getting hurt while trying to protect his companion would be great. I would also like to see the companion character a little surprised by the Doctor’s vulnerability and feeling guilty/very concerned because of it.

For Three, perhaps something set while he’s stuck on Earth? A bad situation that he can’t just get in the TARDIS and fly away from would be really interesting. Perhaps the Doctor gets in trouble with some powerful and morally dubious people on Earth and ends up in a bad situation. Three is normally so self-assured, so seeing his status as an alien/the stability of his situation with UNIT being called into question would be really interesting. Of course Jo and the Brigadier would do everything they could to help him.

For Seven, he’s such a chessmaster that it would really be interesting to see him genuinely caught off guard and really hurt in a way he wasn’t expecting. I would love to see Ace being concerned not only for the Doctor’s wellbeing but also because she had never seen him that hurt and vulnerable would be great.

Request #4 - Eighth Doctor / or & Charley Pollard, Sixth Doctor & Charley Pollard (hurt Charley)

Freeforms:

  • Aftermath of Possession
  • Character A drops the lighthearted facade when Character B is in danger
  • Character A protects Character B from psychic assault
  • Character A wraps Character B gently in their coat
  • Character A's loyalty is used to hurt A; Character B feels terrible

  • Psychic connection used as conduit for comfort
  • Telepathy - telepathic connection/aid/healing

On Charley and Eight's relationship - I love Charley's kindness and her positivity. I love how she did everything she could to reject her aristocratic upbringing but it still affects her. I love how much she enjoys adventuring and her and the Doctor's unbreakable bond despite everything they go through in canon. For these two, I’m fine with anything from platonic friendship to canon-typical ship-teasing to Charley pining to them actually being in a relationship.

On Six and Charley's relationship - I love their dynamic and all of the ways it’s different from her and Eight’s dynamic (and the ways that it’s similar!). I love the fact that Six knows that she’s lying to him but he grows to care for her anyways. I would love anything that plays with the fact that the usual Doctor-companion dynamic don't really apply to their relationship- in this case, Charley is the one who knows more and holds the cards, while Six is the one discovering new things about the mysterious person he's traveling with, sometimes unsure of who she is and what her motivations are. I’m also totally here for Charley having some complicated one-sided feelings for Six- he’s not the man she fell in love with… but also he is???

Onto hurt/comfort specifically - Charley is so optimistic and kind, so I would love to see what would happen if they got hurt in a way that she couldn’t immediately shrug off while with the Doctor, be it a physical or emotional hurt. Bonus points if the Doctor feels guilty/protective over his hurt companion and (if applicable) goes Oncoming Storm on whoever did the hurting.

For Six & Charley specifically, I would love to see an exploration of how Six still feels worried for/protective over Charley despite her issues with truthfulness.

I love Charley’s relationship with her Doctor (both of them) so much. I would love to see some bad things happen to him and Charley’s reaction to that. Eight especially just suffers so prettily, but I would love to see some Sixie whump too. Perhaps the Doctor tries to remain strong but ultimately can’t, while Charley is worried sick and trying to do her best to help, perhaps shaken by how quickly their usual air of confidence/invulnerability has been shattered.

For Six & Charley specifically, I would love to see an exploration of how Six’s mistrust of Charley affects how she attempts to comfort him/his acceptance of that comfort.

  • Unexpected tenderness

This trio has such a great dynamic in the audios, and they explore a lot of interesting concepts together. They also encounter a lot of great bad guys. The Word Lord is probably one of my all-time favorite Doctor Who villains.

I especially love what Hex brings to the table in the audios. He’s a relatively normal person who starts out on the outside of Ace and the Doctor’s weirdness but is also being inexorably drawn into it. For any Hex-focused fic, I would love to see an exploration of that dynamic. Perhaps Hex feels on the outside of Ace and the Doctor’s already established relationship? But then he gets in trouble and Ace and the Doctor prove how much they value his presence.

I would also love to see Ace and Hex working together to help a hurt Doctor. Perhaps the Doctor gets hurt trying to protect Ace and Hex and tries to act confident and pretend to be invulnerable until he can’t anymore? For hurt Ace and Hex, I would also love a guilty Doctor trying to protect his companions from further harm. Basically, I would love to see these three in a bad situation but using their skills and their caring for each other to make the best of it.
