Doctor Who

I got back into Doctor Who recently and I’ve been having a lot of fun with it! For this fandom, I’m always up for something in a more light-hearted/humorous direction. But angsty and bittersweet is great as well, I would just prefer nothing totally bleak/hopeless. For any of the relationships I requested, I would be happy with:

  • Canon-typical adventures
  • Time travel-focused stories, weird time travel stuff, time loops, etc.
  • Downtime between adventures, lighthearted disagreements, not-so-lighthearted disagreements, banter, enjoying each other’s company- on the TARDIS, on a more uneventful trip.

Doctor Who (2005)

Tenth Doctor & Donna Noble

Donna was so good for Ten and I love how much fun they had together! I’m also always up for quieter moments in between adventures on the TARDIS.

  • The Doctor is feeling down because of the Time War/Rose/recent experiences/etc. Donna tries to cheer him up.
  • Donna is feeling down because of her family/love life/recent experiences/etc. The Doctor tries to cheer her up.
  • Post-Midnight hurt/comfort for the Doctor.
  • Fake marriage/dating between Donna and the Doctor that stays platonic. Maybe they're on a planet that doesn't allow unmarried men and women to travel together? Maybe the Doctor needs to pretend to be married to avoid being married off to a local? Maybe they run into an ex of Donna's and there are some assumptions that get out of hand?
  • Donna’s ending always struck me as so unfair and tragic, so I’m always up for a fix-it for her memory loss.

Bill Potts & Twelfth Doctor

Bill!!! Definitely one of the most relatable, down to Earth companions in the TARDIS to date. And Twelve was IMO at his best in Series 10. I fell in love with their relationship from that moment in The Pilot where he goes back in time to get pictures of her mother for her.

  • Bill trying to balance her normal life with her Weird Tutor Stuff.
  • Bill goes to the Doctor for dating advice. The Doctor is not really good at dating, or giving advice. It’s a problem.
  • Bill finds out strange stuff from the Doctor’s past. Bonus points if it’s stuff regular Doctor Who viewers have context for, while Bill is just like ???
  • Missy was such a great addition to the Series 10 10 TARDIS team, so feel free to include her if you would like! It was a shame that she only got to participate in one adventure before things fell apart in World Enough and Time. More adventures set between The Eaters of the Light and World Enough and Time would be lovely.
  • Bill reflects on her relationship with the Doctor, during the events of The Doctor Falls or after when she’s with Heather.

Doctor Who (1963)

Jo Grant & Third Doctor

So I’ve been watching Three’s era for the first time recently and I absolutely fell in love with these two. There is so much to like about these two! The way Three is such an arrogant bastard but also completely charming and lovable. Jo’s sweetness, optimism and resourcefulness and determination. How soft and fond of Jo Three obviously is. The way they always hold hands.

Feel free to have appearances from any of the UNIT-era crew.

  • Jo tries to cheer up the Doctor when he's moping about his exile.
  • Hurt/comfort! One of them gets really hurt and the other is forced to deal with the feelings that brings up.
  • Accidental child acquisition. I feel like these two having to temporarily take care of a human or alien child would be amusing. Bonus points for including an exasperated Brigadier.

Fifth Doctor/Tegan Jovanka

Tegan is prickly and snarky but she obviously cares about the Doctor and eventually grows to enjoy traveling with him before things go bad. And the Doctor is obviously fond of her as well. How does Tegan deal with developing feelings for a ridiculous, celery-wearing alien? How does the Doctor feel about developing feelings for an ill-tempered human companion?

  • Fake dating/marriage. I could see this happening in a lot of ways, but I loved the part in the Time in Office audio where Leela kept suggesting Tegan and the Doctor get married for immigration purposes was hilarious. What if they actually had gotten married?
  • Hurt/comfort! One of them gets really hurt and the other is forced to deal with the feelings that brings up.
  • Tegan and the Doctor have a post-Resurrection of the Daleks encounter. A bittersweet meeting is fine, just preferably with a less depressing ending than The Gathering.
  • Honestly, these guys just go through so much. I would be more than happy with a cute, fluffy pining and get together fic.

Ace McShane & Seventh Doctor

These two!!! I love that their relationship is complicated and weird but that there's genuinely a lot of care, loyalty and trust there. I love how Ace has A Lot Of Issues and the Doctor kind of helps but also ends up traumatizing her further? I also love Ace's fighting spirit, her reckless determination and her love of homemade explosives. I love how Seven can go from his usual seemingly light-hearted self to a scary manipulator in a second. Yet despite all of that ruthlessness, he cares for Ace a lot.

  • Post-Dragonfire, Ace learns that she won’t be abandoned at the first convenient moment and that can trust the Doctor.
  • Ace goes too far on a mission and ends up in over her head in a bad situation. The Doctor helps her out.
  • Hurt/comfort! One of them gets really hurt and the other is forced to deal with the feelings that brings up.
  • AU where Ace leaves the Doctor on better terms. They stay in touch while Ace is on Gallifrey.

Doctor Who (Big Finish Audio)

Charley Pollard & Eighth Doctor or Charley Pollard/Eighth Doctor

I love 1 (one) sweet, brave Edwardian Adventuress and her Doctor. I love her kindness and her positivity. I love how much she enjoys adventuring and being with the Doctor. For these two, I’m fine with anything from platonic friendship to canon-typical ship-teasing to Charley pining to them actually being in a relationship.

  • Their early stuff is just so incredibly sweet. Despite the inherently doomed nature of any Doctor/Companion romance, I found myself really rooting for them in their early audios. Of course things got a lot darker after Neverland/Zagreus/Scherzo, but I would always love to see lighter moments from their earlier adventures.
  • I’m always up for quieter moments in between adventures on the TARDIS. I have noticed that Big Finish is quite big on hurt, but not that big on comfort, so I would love some hurt/comfort with these two.
  • Fake dating/fake marriage... this can become less fake depending on whether or not you want to write them as platonic.
  • After all the hell both Charley and Eight go through after her "departure" in The Girl Who Never Was, I would love to see a reunion between these two.

Sixth Doctor & Charley Pollard

I love their dynamic and all of the ways it’s different from her and Eight’s dynamic (and the ways that it’s similar!). I love the fact that Six knows that she’s lying to him but he grows to care for her anyways. I would love anything that plays with the fact that the usual Doctor-companion dynamic don't really apply to their relationship- in this case, Charley is the one who knows more and holds the cards, while Six is the one discovering new things about the mysterious person he's traveling with, sometimes unsure of who she is and what her motivations are.

  • I’m totally here for Charley having some complicated one-sided feelings for Six- he’s not the man she fell in love with… but also he is??? Bonus points if Six notices her feelings but has no idea what to do about them.
  • Hurt/comfort! One of them gets really hurt and the other is forced to deal with the feelings that brings up. If you want to go with hurt!Charley, I'm always here for the fact that whenever Charley is hurt/in danger, Six stops caring about finding out what she's hiding (and even sometimes starts calling her Charley!)
  • A fix-it for the Mila and/or the Viryans situation- basically, what if Six found out the truth about Charley under better circumstances?

Evelyn Smythe & Sixth Doctor

I love Evelyn - how kind and caring she is, about her students, the people she meets on her adventures, and about Six. I also love her sense of humor and how she is able to deal with Six even when he’s being difficult.

  • Evelyn uses her knowledge of history/academia/academic politics to save the day.
  • Evelyn and the Doctor have an adventure at Evelyn's university.
  • Fake marriage/dating between Evelyn and the Doctor that stays platonic. Maybe they're on a planet that doesn't allow unmarried men and women to travel together? Maybe the Doctor needs to pretend to be married to avoid being married off to a local? Maybe they run into Evelyn's ex-husband and there are some assumptions that get out of hand?

The Godfather

Connie & Fredo & Michael & Sonny Corleone & Tom Hagen

I love these sad Mafia siblings. I love all of the drama and the tragedy of this canon, and how despite all of the tragedy and violence they experience (and cause), they stick together and remain loyal to each other. I’m totally fine with canon-typical violence and death for this fandom, but something that gives these characters a happy ending would be great as well.

  • Any look at their childhood. When did each of them realize what business their father was really in?
  • How did the household react when the family first took Tom in? How did Tom get used to being a part of the family?
  • Sonny (and co.) comfort Tom after his kidnapping in Part I—maybe an AU where it got physical and Tom was tortured?
  • Any look at their childhood. When did each of them realize what business their father was really in? How did the household react when they took Tom in?
  • Do they ever learn about why their father came to America, his history with the murder of his family by the Mafia in Sicily?
  • The siblings team up to murder Connie’s abusive husband, then cover up the murder.
  • Sonny avoids his death on the tollway. How do their lives change?
  • Outsider POV on the siblings. Maybe from one of the Corleone button men, maybe from a civilian outsider.
  • How Tom and/or Connie found out that Michael killed Fredo.

Kay Adams/Michael Corleone

Kay and Michael are the first loves of each others’ lives, right? Michael took her to his sister’s wedding, and brought her into the family picture. Even after everything falls apart, they still care for each other and have lingering feelings in Part III. I would be happy with almost anything from these two, from early relationship fluff to canon-compliant Part II-era angst.

  • A happier moment: Kay and Michael together at Dartmouth, Kay and Michael’s wedding day, or the births of their children, a time when they really believed that things could work.
  • Give them a happier ending. Perhaps Michael really manages to get away from the Mafia at some point and they get to live a normal life together. Or maybe Mary lives and they get back together.
  • Or stay with the tragic ending that we got. Their relationship falling apart in Part II, or perhaps Kay or Michael during or after Part III, reflecting on the past and their regrets.

Michael Corleone & Tom Hagen

Tom, you’re my brother. / I always wanted to be thought of as a brother by you, Mikey, a real brother. - The Godfather Part II

  • Tom and Michael always seemed to understand each other better than the other brothers because of their similar personalities. I imagine that was true even when they were younger,
  • Young Tom and Michael. What does Michael think of Tom after Sonny brings him home?
  • Part II - Tom’s reaction after the attempted assassination on Michael.
  • How does Michael tell Tom about Fredo’s betrayal?
  • Why does Tom choose to stay with the Family despite Michael’s increasing paranoia and poor treatment of him towards the end of Part II.

Sonny Corleone & Tom Hagen

“When Hagen had entered the room Sonny had come rushing to embrace him. Michael realized with a faint twinge of jealousy that in many ways Sonny and Tom Hagen were closer than he himself could ever be to his own brother.” - The Godfather novel.

  • I love that Sonny just found an orphan boy living on the streets and decided to take him home and ask his dad if he could keep him. And Tom responded, okay, I am going to be loyal to you for the rest of my life.
  • Young Sonny teaching Tom Sicilian.
  • Sonny comforts Tom after his kidnapping by Sollozzo in Part I.
  • Sonny lives. What happens to the family?
  • Tom mourning Sonny after his death.

Tom Hagen & Vito Corleone

“Your boss is dead,” Sollozzo said. He paused, surprised at the tears that sprang to Hagen’s eyes. - The Godfather novel.

  • So after Sonny brought Tom home, why did Vito agree to take him in?
  • Tom’s perspective on Vito. It’s clear that he respects and loves him and thinks of him as a father.
  • As the Corleones’ lawyer and later consigliere, what kind of things did Vito ask Tom to do? What was a typical day like?
  • Post-Sonny’s death. Mourning.
