Dear Creator,

Thank you so much for creating for me. I look forward to whatever you come up with! I am [archiveofourown.org profile] CeruleanTactician on AO3 as well. All my prompts are just suggestions. If you have an idea that you think will be great, as long as it respects my DNWs, go for it. If you need any clarifications, please don’t hesitate to send a question through the exchange mods.

I have gifts enabled and am open to receiving both fic and art treats.

Horror Likes

  • Atmospheric horror
  • Being haunted by your past in a surprisingly literal way
  • Bravery even in hopeless or seemingly hopeless situations
  • Characters working together to defeat evil
  • Characters who have become monstrous but still try to protect their loved ones
  • Characters, especially nonhuman characters, who aren’t amoral, but whose sense of morality is alien to the protagonist(s)
  • Creepy forests
  • Dark fantasy/fairytale AUs
  • Eldritch horrors and other horrors that human beings can’t fully comprehend
  • Evil doppelgangers and/or characters meeting their AU counterparts from darker universes
  • Fighting against a force/being that is trying to corrupt you from the inside
  • Helping a friend in need, even at great cost to yourself
  • Identifying with or feeling sympathy towards the monster, even when you know you shouldn’t
  • Line between the protagonist(s) and the horror they’re fighting becoming blurred
  • Manipulation, mental manipulation, mind control, possession
  • Mental/emotional wounds having psychical effects
  • Seemingly idyllic setting with horror lurking underneath
  • Slow realization that something is very, very wrong
  • Time travel-related horror - being trapped in a time loop, paradoxes, being trapped by your own foreknowledge, etc.
  • Trouble telling dreams and reality apart
  • Unreliable narrators

For this exchange, I would totally be happy with darkfic, unhappy or ambiguous endings, and major character death. But I would be equally happy with characters going through something bad and coming out on the other end okay, or traumatized but working on being okay.

Doctor Strange (Movies)

Subgenres: Cosmic Horror, Supernatural Horror

  • Stephen Strange
  • Stephen Strange & Wong
  • America Chavez & Stephen Strange
  • America Chavez & Stephen Strange & Wong
  • Sinister Strange & Stephen Strange

I watched Multiverse of Madness recently and I really enjoyed it! The horror elements all really worked for me. I loved just how weird creepy the magic got in this film. The dreamwalking sequences especially stand out to me. Anything similar to what we got in the film would be great.

  • Perhaps something post-film with Stephen dealing with the complications of using the Darkhold to possess his corpse. What did the souls of the damned mean when they said there would be consequences for his trespass? Besides the third eye, what other side effects might Stephen be experiencing after MoM? I would love to see Stephen trying on his own to fix it/to hide the effects from his friends and fellow sorcerers but it just keeps getting worse.
  • Or maybe an AU where the Darkhold doesn’t get destroyed and Stephen has to use it for some reason? And even though he knows better, he finds himself becoming corrupted by it?
  • I also enjoyed his friendship with Wong and the friendship/mentorship relationship he has with America. I would love to see a post-movie horror adventure with one or both of them. Maybe a first mission for America that goes wrong? Or a Wong and Stephen team-up that gets out of hand. Also would love to see Wong and/or America try to help a Stephen dealing with Darkhold corruption/side effects, but Stephen might be beyond help…
  • An AU where Stephen and America end up in a very dangerous universe. Perhaps the laws of reality work very differently in this universe? Perhaps they encounter a foe much worse than Wanda? Eldritch horror perhaps?
  • Strange and Wong and/or America have an encounter with an eldritch being beyond their comprehension. Perhaps from somewhere else in the multiverse.
  • For the Stephen & Sinister Strange relationship, what if Sinister Strange isn’t dead? Or what if Stephen had an encounter with him before MoM?
  • Feel free to include Wanda and/or Christine in your work. Past or present Stephen/Christine is fine as well.

Doctor Who (1963)

Subgenres: Cosmic Horror, Dark Fantasy, Psychological Horror, Science Fiction Horror, Supernatural Horror

  • Seventh Doctor & Ace McShane
  • Melanie Bush & Seventh Doctor

I love both of Seven’s TV companions and I would love to see your take on a horror story with one or both of them. Mel is so fun and enthusiastic but also aware of the dangers she’s facing while traveling with the Doctor. Her and Seven’s TV stories were fairly light (at least in comparison to Seven and Ace's), so I would love to see something darker for them, maybe a chance for Seven to be more calculating than he usually was in Season 24.

As for Seven and Ace- what’s not to love about them? It's complicated and weird but there's also genuinely a lot of care, loyalty and trust there. I love how Ace has A Lot Of Issues and the Doctor kind of helps her but sometimes also ends up traumatizing her further? I would love a story that also explores some of the issues in their relationship- the trust issues, Ace’s past traumas. I think they would do great in a horror story.

  • I am totally here for bad things happening to the Doctor and Mel and/or Ace. Maybe a mission gone wrong? Maybe the TARDIS team finds an ancient evil/eldritch being like Fenric or the Gods of Ragnarok, but the evil ends too great for them? Maybe Seven’s manipulations backfire/lead them into a situation that’s too much for them to handle?
  • For this request, I would be totally happy with a darker Seven interpretation, where he’s willing to manipulate his companions in service of the greater good. But I would prefer him not to be indifferent to their trauma/suffering, even if he is a cause of it.
  • One of the great things about Doctor Who is that pretty much anything can happen. Even though it’s a sci-fi show, you don’t just have to stick to sci-fi related horrors. Team TARDIS fights a ghost? A demon? A malicious house that’s gained consciousness? Vampires? The actual Devil? All has been done before in the show or in the EU (and probably more than once!)
  • The Cybermen have made for some great horror in Doctor Who. I love “Spare Parts” and “World Enough and Time” so a Cyberman story leaning into those elements would be great. Feel free to lean into the body horror element/mental takeover element. I could totally see a great story about a companion being cyber-converted (or partially cyber-converted) and then they and the Doctor having to deal with the aftermath of that. Bill’s choice in “The Doctor Falls” to not continue on after her cyber-conversion was totally understandable, but what if the companion wanted to keep on living? What if the cyber-conversion was only partial and there was still a possibility for a cure?
  • For this request, feel free to go with something like a dark fantasy/fairytale AU. Potentially even where potentially the Doctor is the/one of the sources of the horror. I have read some great Fae!Time Lord fics in the past and would love to see another take on it. Feel free to do something with the Dr Nyarlthorep headcanon if you’re familiar with it. I would prefer the Doctor, if he is the source of horror, to not be outright malicious/wanting to harm his companions. But not being familiar with or not really caring about upsetting human norms/customs is good.

Doctor Who (Big Finish Audio)

Subgenres: Cosmic Horror, Dark Fantasy, Gothic Horror, Science Fiction Horror, Supernatural Horror

  • Eighth Doctor & Charley Pollard

I love Eight and Charley and I think they would work really well in a horror story. I mean, they already have some of the scariest stories in Doctor Who canon: “Scherzo”, “The Natural History of Fear”, etc. I’m just ready to see some bad things happen to these two. I do ship these two, but feel free to have them in a platonic or a romantic relationship- whichever you feel would work best!

  • Eight and Charley on a TARDIS trip that goes wrong. Maybe they land on a world where something is immediately and obviously wrong and they have to find out why? Maybe they encounter an Eldritch being?
  • For this request, feel free to go with something like a Dark fairytale-esque, where potentially the Doctor is the source of the horror. Perhaps Charley finds herself in a creepy mansion with a very strange, almost inhuman-seeming owner. Some Gothic romance would be great as well if you want to go the Eight/Charley route. Or perhaps Charley finds herself making a deal with a mysterious and handsome fae known only as the Doctor. I have read some great Fae!Time Lord fics in the past and would love to see another take on it.
  • Or something with the Dr Nyarlthorep headcanon, if you’re familiar with it. I would prefer the Doctor, if he is the source of horror, to not be outright malicious/wanting to harm Charley. But not being familiar with or not really caring about upsetting human norms/customs is good.

Doctor Who (Big Finish Audio)

Subgenres: Cosmic Horror, Dark Fantasy, Psychological Horror, Science Fiction Horror, Supernatural Horror

  • Seventh Doctor & Ace McShane & Thomas “Hex” Schofield

This trio has such a great dynamic in the audios, and they explore a lot of interesting concepts together. I love the relationship between them and how the addition of Hex changes the Ace-Doctor dynamic. Hex starts out as a relatively normal person on the outside of Ace and the Doctor’s weirdness but is also being inexorably drawn into it. I love how Ace and Hex tease each other but also obviously care for each other a lot. And I love how much the Doctor cares for Ace and Hex, even if he can’t always be honest with them. They also have one of the best Doctor Who villains, our old pal Nobody No-One.

  • I am totally here for bad things happening to Ace, Hex and the Doctor. Maybe a mission gone wrong? Maybe the TARDIS team finds an ancient evil/eldritch being like Fenric or the Gods of Ragnarok, but the evil ends too great for them? I would also be very happy to see another encounter with our old friend Nobody No-One. Or maybe Seven’s manipulations backfire/lead them into a situation that’s too much for them to handle?
